Tire Rotation
Hey All,
How many miles do you folks go between tire rotation? Right now I'm at 422 miles with new tires. Regards Bill Last edited by BillCNC; 05-14-2022 at 05:58 PM. |

Re: Tire Rotation
4000 miles, front to back and back to front, keeping them on the same side.

Re: Tire Rotation
On my car, it's the tyres that do the rotating - not me!!!
When the back ones are worn out, I replace them, same at the front. Usually nearly 2 sets on the back for one on the front. If the wear pattern is even, I see no point fussing about it. All you'll get is a bill for 4 tyres at the same time, 5 if you include the spare in the rotation process instead of 2.

Re: Tire Rotation
Synchro has a good point unless you are planning on changing brands or going from bias to radials. In that case let the wear be your guide. The depth measuring part of calipers can be used to measure tread depth or you can use the tool designed for that purpose.
Depending on how you drive you will get more or less mileage out of your tires. Proper air pressure has a lot to do with it too. So you may want to rotate your tires in 1,000 miles or 4,000 miles.

60 plus years. Never rotated tires on a Model A or Model T. I to this today on our Volvo’s. Why spend $100.00 three or four times over life of tires. Just wait until there almost worn out and get a new set. With four wheel alignment. Buy good tires. Averaging 50,000 plus miles on tires today Enjoy. Last edited by WHN; 05-15-2022 at 11:16 AM. |

Tire Rotation

Agreed. I rotate all 5 tires too. Plus there are folks that proclaim that brand new, unused tires should be thrown away (for safety’s sake because of rubber deterioration) at the end of 6 or 7 years after the date of manufacture, whether there are any cracks in the tires or not. Because of the cost of the new tires, I don’t want to leave anything to chance. I’d prefer all my tires to wear out in fairy close proximity to each other. I don’t want to be throwing away any tire that “looks like new.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by shew01; 05-18-2022 at 06:36 PM. |
