Diamond block
I just spotted something I've never noticed before. I'm building a 42 engine with the raised intake surface. After getting it baked and short peened I noticed a diamond down in the valve spring valley in the center in that caverty in the center that's always filled with gunk. It has a diamond and a seven cast in braille. It had already had the sleeves removed and Ford .0825 pistons in it. I bored it another .045 to 3-3/16. By sticking my finger down one of those big water holes and the cyl, it feel a little thicker than others i've bore these to. Maybe not. At least this gives me bragging rights, right? Walt
