Default Dyna beads in wheels

Anyone had luck with the beads in you tires, I can not get my 35 to run smooth at cruising speed around 55 mph, have tried the modern balance ,have a bubble balancer I’ve tried, but nothing seems to help ,,,using the original rims ,,with radials which improved ride a whole lot, wheel bearings are all good and snug

Lot of posts on the HAMB. Most are favorable. Here is a link for Dynabeads:

Check for out of round tire and run out on the rim. Put brand new Cooper tires on the newly restored '67 Mustang last summer, mounted and balanced at the local tire shop. Had a bad bounce at highway speed. Spun all the tires by hand with a block and bar close to the side wall--all good. Same on the face of the tread. Up on jack stands, spun up to highway speed, the tread on one tire swelled so easily visible with the naked eye. More things than just balance can cause tire shake. Yes, I got a new tire, no charge.

was a sceptic till i tried them ;wont leave home without them but they wont cure an out of round or damaged wheel The beauty of them is you can rotate tires and no need to rebalance as they balance the entire rotating mass [wheel hub drum etc]

I swear by them on my 1 ton and 3/4 ton trucks. I have a terrible time getting beads through a valve stem though, I put them directly in a tubeless tire by breaking the bead, in a tube I need to use the finer powder size beads.

I overfilled a tire on purpose to see how it worked, that one needed a few revolutions at speed to smooth out, so I don't worry as much about the exact weight of beads now.

I have them in my 34, running 35 16inch wheels with tubes with radials. smooth as silk. The folks that sold me the beads did mention that they won't resolve side to side issues only rolling. So you may want to check the edge of your wheels when you spin them. Apparently thats why lead weights are both inside and outside. Ken

Run a drill (by hand) into the stem to help remove any possible blockage.

the experience with dyna beads may depend on how old the tires are and if youre running radials or new or dryed up bias ply. type and shape of lever vs tube shocks alignment. a few things to consider. just my two pennies. Tom.

I had an old timer in a local country garage tell that years prior an older old timer would come in for tires and pour sand in each tire before mounting them and never balanced his tires. That’s in rural Nova Scotia. I wonder what the history of beads/sand come from?

I'll mention this to my uncle once he decided to get Dyna beads. Got to finish installing the last mods on the Wrangler this weekend, including the soft tops, jeep accessories, and rear bumper before we can clear the garage.

Is there a chance of ruining the seat for the valve stem core with the drill?
