Default Fulton feathers/hood trim 1936 - history?

I’m trying to compile some information for a page I’m putting together that has to do with 1936 Fords and their accessories, both factory and aftermarket. I was wondering if anyone knew the history of Fulton’s hood trim for 1936 Ford.

I’ve always considered them to be one of the rarest aftermarket accessories for these cars. You almost never see them for sale. I had to look for a very long time before finding mine. (pictured)

I’ve also never seen any original advertising material for them. I don’t even know for sure when they were introduced. Maybe someone here does know?

So:

-When were they made available?
-How long were they available for?
-About how many do we think were made?
-Can anyone provide any original advertising for them? (I'd love to see this)

If this has been covered in depth before, I apologize. I sure couldn’t find it.

Thank you.

I too have a set That I have owned a very long time. Also searched for a long time before finding. The black roadster pictured above is stunning. If you look hard it also has stainless hood side louvre stainless trim from and rear of hood. I also have a full set of this. I do not know who made it also very rare.

I've never seen another set of those. Is there any chance you could email me photos of them if it's easy? I appreciate it.

DM or [email protected] either is fine. Thank you.

Wow, these are awesome!! Never seen those before, congrats own securing a pair.

On the other hand, never been a fan of the Pimes trim, no matter how rare, IMO takes away from the clean lines of a 36, Especially a Roadster.

Thank you.

And not to get too far off topic, but in general I agree with you about the Pines trim, I've not seen a lot of cars that they look good on.

That said, my Phaeton has Pines trim on it and I couldn't imagine the car without it. I think it has to do with the length of the body of a Phaeton and the fact that the windshield is chopped. Somehow it just works on this one.

Anyway, back to Fulton trim stuff. Thanks for the replies so far.

Does anyone have any original Fulton trim advertising material or insight?

Thanks again.

Possibly sold by Eastern Auto Supply Co.

petehoovie,

Maybe. But I've been through a lot of Eastern Auto ads and so far have not seen any mentions of Fulton hood trim.

Solid hood sides and grille blank-off panels? No wonder flatheads got a reputation for overheating!
