Default Power Brake Conversion

A power brake conversion offered on my '48 car includes a 1" bore dual compartment master cylinder with a 7" vacuum canister and bracket to mount it where the original MC was. My question is will that 1" bore dual MC move enough fluid through those 1/4 lines and original type wheel cylinders to give adequate braking?

Size of brake line doesn't matter.

I may be wrong here but most of those kits are designed for cars that have switched to automatic trans..? Don't want you to get caught out.

I did a 7 inch under floor booster and dual chamber master cylinder on both a stick shift and automatic. I did not have any problem mounting it. Time consuming yes, but it dies work well. Also, mrtexas is correct in that the size of the lines does not matter. Fluid movement is going to happen no matter what diameter , (1/4" or 3/16") the brake lines are.

I have P/B's on my 41 but I used a dual 7" Booster. Make sure you have enough vacuum to operate the booster, at least 16-17 " of vacuum. Dual unit gives more boost on a heavier car.
