Default 36 pickup horn bolt length

I purchased a chrome horn bolt for my 36 pickup, looks to be the same length as the ones 3rd gen sells. I used it to mount the headlight bracket and it is barely long enough for that bracket, not even a full nut. No way will it work with another 1/8" horn bracket. This is the bolt with the hole in it. I don't see any longer ones for sale. Please enlighten me. Thanks Ron, PS. The truck is coming together after 5 years of being apart.

Ron, This is the bolt that you need. Try 3rd Generation for a correct one if yours doesn't meet the specs shown in my photo.

Are you sure the fender and fender brace are coming together when you're trying to put the bolt through? Loosen the fender brace is about all you can do, then re-tighten when you have the bolt through. Been there done that.

Thanks Lawson, and Don, I will measure what I have, and try the brace thing. What a great forum to be a part of, Ron
