I went single locker as the feet were bigger. I wasn't worried about the feet wearing, more the cam.

As a wise man once said, if something is adjustable, it will eventually need adjusting.

Mine need adjusting. Thinking about threadlock or just putting a ding in the threads. Will probably go with the latter - less cleaning up and cheaper.

Cheers

The cam and foot wear problem is mainly with the double locks having an undersized foot causing the edge of the foot to dig into the heal of the cam. I did not have access to that info several years before I bought mine. Thankfully I never installed them in an engine. I thought about selling them when I found out, but my consious would not let me and it was past the 90 days to send them back. I am instead using the bolts and lock nuts to convert B lifters to adjustable double locks. That is the best use for them. I pitched the rest of the lifters in the scrap iron as that is about all they are worth. No experience with the current single locks so I can not comment. It was reported in a different post that the foot size has recently been increased to stock dimensions, but I have not seen or heard any confirmation of this. Rod

I'm in the same boat as Rowdy. Years ago I bought a set of double locks without knowing the foot was too small. Luckily they are still new in the package in my dresser drawer. When I rebuild my own engine I'd like to use original valves and tappets.

How many years is it going to take for this misconception to go away. They both have the same foot size now, and have for a number of years.

Since I have not bought any in several years I did not know they did. Just glad I alteast found a use for some of the parts from them, although it worked out to be expensive bolts. Rod

Rowdy, you may need to shorten the B lifters before installing the bolts and lock nuts. Model B lifters are also longer than model A lifters and will be even longer when you add the adjustable bolts and lock nuts. It may be a good idea to shorten the B lifters to the same length as the double lock lifter, so that they don't end up too long. This may not matter if you use modern straight stem valves. Just a thought.

I didn't know they are all made correctly now, but a year ago my friend bought a set of lifters and I thought they looked like a smaller foot. When I get back to his garage and compared them sure enough they were too small and struck the outside edge. He took them back and got a different set with the larger diameter.

Was planning on it. Abit of measuring and it looks like 2 1/8" long should be about right. Rod
