Default 35 Brake Drums

How do you tell the difference between 32, 33&34 front brake drums and the 35 front brake drums. I thought the 35's were wider and took a bigger shoe.

Anyone have that measurement??

Easiest method is if they have cooling fins running around drum they are 35 [only], the earlier drums had no fins

Flatford 39...Some of the drums I have also have a date code on them in in terms of when made and I have at least a couple of 35 drums with the 48 part number on them

The "48-" prefix represents 1935 (first year application) parts. DD

Like Mart says, they are 1.75" + inside, wide enough for the 1.75" shoe and a bit more.
I'm measuring about 1.875" on the outside of mine and if you allow for the portion overlapped by the backing plate, probably about 1.9375 out to out. Maybe someone has an unmounted drum to verify, but they are clearly 1/4" (min) wider than the earlier drum, plus the fins as mentioned.
