Default Roadster question for the experts...

Take a look at these photos and tell me about the front splash pan. Is this an A model piece? It looks to be a factory part, no custom fab work, it fits perfect in the factory bolt holes. Maybe from an AA truck?

I asked the question over on the HAMB and got mixed opinions, most saying it was from another brand of vehicle. I kinda doubt that because it fits so good.

I like it, just wondered where it came from? Never seen one like it before.

Thanks,
Kevin

I've seen this Splash shield before. I'm thinking 33 -34 Chev with the bottom edge cut off.

Looks like the RPU may be a Shay. If so, the apron may be stock for a Shay. MHO.

Other parts of the truck might be but the splash apron is not.

It has factory stamping marks and ridges on the bottom, and fits the '29 shell and rails perfectly. That's why I thought it was a Ford piece.

Post pics of the AA truck? Someone said it was from an AA fire truck...?

Not saying anyone is wrong, let's just see pictures.

You have questioned the 'experts', asking if it stock A, which it is not. An AA splash shield is same as A. There were three variations, and that ain't one. Take it for what it is no need to show you pictures.....

Thanks, experts. Especially you Steve. Not only did I ask if it was a Ford part, I asked if anyone knew what it WAS.... So far, no answer on that.

Now that we know what it IS NOT..... Any clues?

Not positive, but seem to recall one of the bigger suppliers selling these back in about the 70's. Could have been anyone from Honest Charley to Speedway to "who knows". Maybe even very early Brookville. As everyone has said, it's definitely not Ford, and the probability that anything off another make could be made to fit that well seems slim. If they were indeed sold by somebody, you'd think someone on the HAMB would remember - obviously they couldn't have been a big seller if they were indeed marketed.
