Default Under dash ac

I am in the middle of getting ac installed in my 74 bronco . Got the compressor mounted and condensor coil but I have a 1963 under dash unit and started looking at new units . Have any of you put in a under dash with heat and air . They are about the same price but other than making more room under dash by removing factory heat I am not sure of any advantage to it .

The few that I installed didn't have provision for pulling in outside air which makes defrosting windows a lot easier.

I installed a Vintage Air "slimline" model in my 57 Fairlane. It has provisions for heat, cool and defrost and it works very well. I looked at several units but liked this one the best because of its wider spacing of the vents which gives better distribution of the air. We have had some extremely hot and humid weather this year and I was quite satisfied with its performance.

Good luck with your choice of units.

I have installed Vintage Air under dash, unit works well putting out 40 deg., only problem I have is after 45 mph it start to draw in outside air, I have 53 Victoria windows are not that tight, I am using electric fan, runs cooler at in town driving both engine and inside car. i am going to have my doors adjusted hope that helps.

I like that slimline . I guess I will go ahead and put a good insulated headliner in and hope that will help by keeping in air and heat out.
