Default Help identify odd bracket on Victoria door

A friend with a leatherback Victoria sent me these photos of an odd bracket on the side of the passenger door. I've never seen a similar one on a Victoria, or any other Model A, for that matter. Maybe some of you can help identify what it is, or what it might be. Thanks

It appears to be a match striker…everyone smoked back in the day. The bracket is holding a piece of sandpaper or striker cloth. Probably saved the instrument panel! Looks like a great low miles original car, would love to see more of it.

Attachment 474497That's exactly what that is--a match striker. here's my old truck's instrument panel, where you can see just to the left of the Ammeter, the rusty mess where the owner would strike his wooden matches to light his cigars. The striking damage is usually right there since the steering wheel partially blocks the hand from striking matches further to the left. Sorry my photo is a bit blurry, but you can get the idea OK.
