Here is the picture that was in the V-8 Times of the 1947 MH Pickup that was shown at the 2022 Western National Meet by Dale Hughes.

When did M-H start up with the ford 1/2 tons ? Back in the eighties there was a 42/47 sitting in a driveway where I was living in Centralia WA. The only one I've ever seen of the jail bar trucks. Tim

The earliest survivors I know of are three from 1937. The Commercial (half ton) shared its drive train with the woodies of the 1940s, and to my hearing of it, many pickups gave their chassis to create woodie tributes. My main area of interest is the rarer one ton model from 1938 to 1947, and subsequent 3/4 tons of 48 to 52. Today only one 1939, one 1940, and three 1946s or 1947s have photo records showing their survival. Stu

I have a complete 1937 M-H 1/2 ton pickup. A few years ago Don Chew told me that he only knew about 2, his and one other. My truck makes a total of 3. Is there any one that has information about more?
My other M-H is a 1941 1/2 ton and there are many changes .

Have seen a picture of a restored ‘37 that was on display at a Ford dealer, thinking on the east coast?

The three ‘37s I’ve seen photos of are the purplish fully restored one, a gray restored example, plus a photo and laid my hands on Don Chew’s blue gray unrestored truck. If I wasn’t such a Luddite on this site I’d post pictures. Stu

I'll bet you have to be very careful selecting what gear you want to be in.

That Columbia had to have been added later in life. MH would not have put one on a 4wd conversion. understandable, MH specified the lowest ratios for conversion candidates.

I just recently acquired a 1935 Ford Marmon Herrington Fire Truck. I was told it was originally a Fire Truck at an Air Field in California, then it served as a fire truck at a small town in Northern California. After doing some research I believe it's the first year production Ford Marmon Herrington.

Sounds like a great truck. One more post for you and then you will be able to send PM’s (private messages). We look forward to seeing some pictures of your truck.

Wow! A really early truck. Agree pictures, if you can figure out the posting process here, especially of the drive train underside to see how much changed/stayed the same over the decades. Stu
