Default '27 sheetmetal thickness;original vs aftermarket

i'm going to have some panels fabricated for my roadster and would like to know the gauge Henry used vs Howells;sold by most vendors. I really need a panel that has a 6-8 week MAYBE lead time. The local metal shop says they can do one but my piece is too rusty to do anything but guess at.

I spot checked mine and was surprised to find 16ga (.063ish), i would have expected 19ga. I checked the cowl door and some interior pieces that i could get to. The commercially available panels i have worked with are around .036-7 which is 20ga i believe, too thin for my taste.

Do some checking on the other site. Howell's has gotten some rotten press lately.
