A lot of talk about Marvel Mystery Oil, any votes for Lucas the complete fuel treatment-upper cylinder lubricant, increases MPG, Neutralizes poor quality fuel?

MMO has an almost mystical following because it has been beneficial to many people who have used it. There are probably other additives which are just as good but they do not have the history of this product.

"Neutralizes poor quality fuel?"

???????

If anyone develops anything to do this they will be an instant millionaire

the only workaround for poor fuel quality is to send it to china and stop shoving it down the throats of Americans

That's exactly what I thought when I read "Neutralizes poor quality fuel".

Sounds like gibberish from Washington DC.

Marvel Mystery Oil has a great odor right out of the 1920's-1930's & 1940's. What more do you want?

The way that it might help poor quality fuel (alcohol) is that it would bring the lubricating quality up to an oily fuel like what we had before corn gas. In other words it probably doesn't burn as dry as ethanol. I used it years ago and it was said to be a top cylinder lubricant, I never used it in the motor oil.

Yes, it does, and so does Kroil have a nice smell, and it also works well.

When struggling with a stuck engine, by stuck I mean engines that have not run in a while. My Allis Chalmers "B" was just getting stuck nicely, after 3 years of just sitting. An ounce of MMO in each cylinder and a day of soaking, and it unstuck itself. The stuff works!

I have encountered many neglected high mileage motors. They could have stuck rings from sitting (smoking). They could have sticky valves (run poorly). They could have carbon build up (after run diesel). Treatment with Marvel in the tank, in time, usually takes care of these ills. However, if a motor needs a rebuild, it has to come apart. Many times though, I call myself lucky to know of the marvels of Marvel.

In the past, new cars I bought got some in the crankcase during break in. I would run the recommended dose in the gas tank each fill up (4 oz for each 10 gal). I would pass a great running engine to the next owner (mid hundred plus thou).

Today the new car in the drive doesn't want or need it. I've been told to keep it on the shelf. When it comes to my 'Historic' toys I'll always tip the can (bottle).

On tour from Iowa to Branson, MO, one of the participants added some LUCAS fuel treatment to his tank. Immediately there after, he experienced a loss of power and could hardly get over the hills. After many attempts to solve the problem he was convinced to drain all the fuel and replace with fresh fuel, his car then ran great. We all fueled at the same locations so I doubt that he had bad fuel as none of the rest of us experienced any problems.

Not saying the LUCAS treatment was the cause but none of us have used it since. I do use MMO.

4 oz MMO in 10 gallon fuel for 28 years, 33,000 miles, great compression, extremely smooth running
