Default Brass crank hole cover?

I bought a radiator shell for little to nothing, it was in really rough shape and the bottom of the crank hole was cut out, i saved the crank hole cover for my truck when i was restoring it, and the plater said he had never seen one made of brass.
Has anyone ever seen one like that before? i thought they were supposed to be made of steel

John,

That is interesting...Just another "brass" part that is in line with brass Instrament Panels, brass Distributor Bodies, and brass Terminal Block to Generator Wire Conduit Assemblies...anything else? (I know there is just can not think of them now).

I was having trouble getting a smooth plating job on my pot metal cowl light arms. Gave up after three attempts. I heard about brass cowl arms and was lucky enough to find a pair. They plated beautifully.
