Re: 37 ford doesnt run just right
OK Guys
Thanks for all your input. It took me 2 weeks to find the problems. yes I had 2 problems. But I finally got it. The brush has fallen out of the coil. The coil makes contact with the rotor button with a small pencil size brush and a small spring. It had fallen out and was lying on the bottom of the dist. I install a new dist and that took care of the completely quitting problem . the other problem was, the heat risers had eaten 2 small holes in the aluminum intake. Yes, on the side that the idle screw is on. I took the intake off, welded up the holes, blocked off the heat riser holes and YESSSSSS ! She is purring like a kitten. I drove it over a 100 miles yesterday with a smile on my face all the way. So basically I had a ignition problem (coil) and a vacuum leak. So "Superflat", AnthonyG, 50Fordcoupeman, drolston, Brian, and Kerk. you guys were right on. Thanks Keep those Flatheads running !!!!! |
