Default Lincoln for 1928

https://www.hemmings.com/stories/art...incoln-model-l

"Despite their bodies being constructed primarily of aluminum, these sedans weighed just under 5,000 pounds, and their $4,800 price tag—equivalent to about $70,620 today—was more than three times the average yearly salary in 1928, and $550 above the median cost of a new home. With the prestige afforded by those stratospheric figures, it's no wonder Ford gave its new-for-1928 Model A a heavy helping of Lincoln L style."

"And there are three brake shoes on the wheels; one assists the other two so you don't have to step hard on the brakes to stop. This is a mechanical system, and it works slick! One brake does have the tendency to lock up a bit if you're going slowly, but they'll really stop you."

Edsel Ford was the driving force behind the model A
I also read the other day that was also placed in charge of the Lincoln line after Henry purchased Lincoln
Maybe the Lincoln was his inspiration for the model A

Henry purchased the Lincoln Motor Company for two reasons. I'd say the main one was to get some payback from Henry Leland. Henry Ford could be vindictive but in business he played it like any other business deal and avoided rubbing Mr Leland's nose in it. The two had a crossing of paths in 1902 that left Henry with a certain amount of animosity for all those involved in the Henry Ford Company demise. The second reason was to keep his son Edsel busy so he wouldn't meddle in the Ford line of products too much.

The Lincoln model L was quite a car for 1928. The new Lincoln V8 was very well engineered. Aluminum was still common in luxury coachwork since it was easy to form for the many body styles that were available for the Lincoln Model L chassis. The Lincoln cars designs affected the last of the model Ts as well as the new model A for 1928. Edsel ran the design department so all models were affected by his leadership.

I've always said that a Lincoln was nothing more then a Model-A on steroids!

When I saw the picture at the top of that article, I thought "What a ridiculous looking car." Then I noticed that it had been compressed. The wheels are nowhere near round. Why would they do that?
Personally, I've never seen an early Lincoln but the similarity to the '28 Model A is unmistakable.
