ok the rod is NOT making the correct contact into the bail...Down is off, 1 to the right is lights, 2 to the right is brights, 1 to the left is cowl if you have or parking..This is what it should do and if it is doing it another way it has to be able to do it the right way. Check the inside of the bail for the way all is put together for me.

I don't know why, but I just noticed that the inside of the switch was bent. It looks like the person who had the car before me tried to remove the old harness from behind the switch without knowing that that's where the contacts were. After a few tweeks with a small pry-bar the lights and horn are up and running as they should be. Now I just need to fix the stop light switch and I'm set. Thanks for all the help Mark, I really appreciate it.

Best,

Jon

Here are a couple of pictures that may help. The picture
of the light switch shows it in the off position, make sure your
spider is in in the same position when you put the switch on
the column.

Your brake switch may not be bad. Does the pedal come back ebough to push the plunger to the off position. The 30-1 brake switch is spring loaded to always be ON until the brake rod pushes it to the OFF position.

The 28-9 switch is spring loaded to always be OFF until the brake pedal link pulls the switch rod to the ON position.
