Looks like a shoe box to me, 49 to 52 ford merc.

Looks that way to me also. I have 3 of those case with tailshafts and some misc. used gears. Rod

49 50 or 51 Ford. The only difference between the three is the 51 rear mount is a little different than the 49 & 50.
