Question 1929 Tudor front 'kick' panels

Anyone know a source for the front kick panels in a 1929 Tudor. Mine is missing one and don't know a source for just that part. I thought I would ask the guys/gals at the barn to see where they would source them from.

Thanks!

Dave

Is you other upholstery authentic looking including the cowl panel you have? If you have one good one, you could just buy some matching upholstery material and water resistent upholstery hardboard to glue the upholstery material to from Classtique or another company that carries it and use the one you have as a pattern to make the one that is missing. I believe the cowl panels are just upholstery board with upholstery material glued to it with edging stitched on the door side. Any upholstery shop can sow the edging on the panel, or you could just leave it off.

The originals were coated and embossed panel board material to give them the look of leather material. The coating also helped waterproof the panel board to some extent. They lasted very well and some well preserved cars still have their original panels.

Most folks get their panels as part of the full interior kits since they come with the leather grained material wrapped and sewn around the edges to look like the originals. Check with Mike at Classtique and see if you can at least get the materials to make your own. All of the auto trim shops have walking foot machines that can sew through the vinyl and panel board. I know my Consew 206 machine can do it.
