Does anyone know if 1953 Mercury Monarch Steering Wheels fit 1953 ford cars? Thanks

If both have the splined shaft it will fit.

From the photos the Mercury wheel looks very similar to my Ford. Kochs has a Mercury 3 spoke that I think would be a nice add for my Ford. It seems Ford and Mercury shared many part designs. Maybe the steering columns? Thanks

My first car was a '52 Mercury Monterey. The steering column in it was very different from a '52 Ford. A '53 Merc column was the same as the '52, so it would be different than '53 Ford. Since you are talking about a Monarch I do not know much about the columns in those cars, but I suspect they would be very similar to the American Mercury.

They are identical except for the horn button. In fact pretty much everything on the Monarch is the same as on Mercury except certain trim items. Having said that, they are two separate car lines sold from separate dealerships. You could not buy a Monarch at a Lincoln Mercury Meteor dealership. Only at the Ford Monarch dealers.

The Monarch was made on the Mercury car platform so anything that fits one has a very good chance to fit the other. US made Ford and Mercury cars had only just begun to have similarities in 1952 but there are still a lot of differences. Prior to that, the Mercury car was more similar to the baby Lincoln than the Ford car.
