Default Rear floor-1931 Deluxe Phaeton 180 A

At Hershey Saturday I saw a 1930 Model A 2Door Deluxe Phaeton w an indented/sunken floor behind the front seats. Also noticed a Vicky with the same thing. My 1931 180 A Phaeton has a flat floor leaving no room for back seat passenger’s feet, especially w front seats moved rearward for more room up front. Is this indented/sunken floor a standard feature? Are 1931 180 A’s also supposed to have them? This would be a great solution to rear seat foot room! I am still learning about my 180 A, just got it in May 2021…

180a should have same sunken floor. The pan under the rear seat is slightly different in attachment and shape…. But very close. I have an extra but hard to ship.
You need to join the 180 special interest group

Thanks for the response. So this is a special rear floor board construct? I will try to figure out how to join the 180-A special interest group. Where are you located, maybe I could pick it up if you are willing to sell it? I am in Williamsburg, VA. Thanks again, Carl

Thanks. I will look for the pictures. I could make a weekend trip to get it. What are you asking for your best one? Is it special for the 180 A or does it fit other A’s? Tough to to install?

Cheers,
Carl

Oh, and I already belong to the 180 A group you mentioned. The organizer has been helpful.

One more comment on FB
If the current floor is not the correct one, I’d be highly concerned if the sills would accept the correct pan. I’d have to see pics to make an initial assessment. Could be the entire floor area is “home engineered”. Uh oh not good

Good point. I have not ripped up the carpet and examined the current floor in any detail. I was just surprised and happy to see the sunken rear floor as it could allow the back seat to be useful.
