Congratulations JOOP Finding Wayne Carini's Car
I am presently watching TV with Model A Ford 400A Group's Secretary Joop Pladenberg with WAYNE CARINI on TV's Chasing Classic Cars, after Joop, 400A, registrant found Wayne Carini's father's car in Texas following four subsequent purchases from CT to TX.

It sure would be nice if you could click to see exactly who it was, wouldn't it? Sure be even nicer if that function was disabled and the Search button here improved!

Did Wayne purchase it back for his dad? I haven't seen the episode yet?

I've seen that A400 in person. It's a car with some unique features & accessories.

No, the son of the guy who owns it today was too attached to it to sell it.

Re: Congratulations JOOP Finding Wayne Carini's Car
After seeing all the mods (including a re-paint) I'm not so sure Wayne was that keen on buying it anyway, I think he was just happy knowing where it was.

Don't believe all that you see on TV. The car has been for sale by Bill for several years now, --and was on the Facebook MARC page earlier in the year where all of the armchair appraisers and self-proclaimed experts picked it apart and started a bashing war. I too have seen the car in person, and while it has been modified it is a very nice starting point for someone who desires to authentically restore the car to a fine-point status. Yes, the price seems excessive to some but when you find yourself paying the expenses in both time & $$ necessary in finding the correct items for a fine-point restoration, those costs soon start aligning with Coleman's asking price. . |

Re: Congratulations JOOP Finding Wayne Carini's Car
A number of features on Mr. Carini's Model A really don't appeal to me, anyway. The things they have done to it don't 'sit right' in my eye.
Price too high? I have no idea as I don't follow this body style of Model A much. Evidently others aren't too keen on 48 grand as it hasn't sold yet. Looks like they aren't too serious about selling the car only fishing. I also kinda picked up on the feeling that Wayne really wasn't all that interested in this car. Interesting episode I do concur, nice to see a Model A! |

Re: Congratulations JOOP Finding Wayne Carini's Car
If there is someone that I really hate in TV-land it is W. Carini !
I've watched several shows of him and in every of them I noticed this ; he is always been contacted to come and see a rare vintage, classic car in a place were the owner passed away, and who was a very good friend of W.C.. And then his view on the case : "I've always wanted that car in my collection, I will take care of it, bla bla bla" And when he comes home with the car he decides to put it up for auction because "the car doesn't fit in his collection". he is steling it form the owners family and is making K of $$ out of it. I can't watch that guy anymore ! Car Collector my A$ ! Collector of $ bills : yes. That is my opinion. |

Re: Congratulations JOOP Finding Wayne Carini's Car
Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,that's what nice about a TV. You can turn it off. Ya, he might find some rare stuff and turn it over, but hey,,,,,,,,,,,,,that's what he is in business for. I enjoy looking at some of the rare stuff he comes across. Kudos to JOOP also on the Model A.
