Default 1950 Ford F1 Brake Drums

I am in need of two new front brake drums for my 1950 Ford F1. I took my used ones to have turned and they told me they are to thin to turn again and said I need to get some different ones. Anyone know where to buy good new ones at a decent price? Dennis Carpenter has them at $115.00 each or there are some on ebay for $35.00. Whats the difference?

Later F150 drums fit (that's what I run) if you don't mind the shoe surface being a little wide (2.8 vs 2.0). The same drum was used for several years and models, but I think 1976 F150 rear will work. I can post the part number if you are interested. As far I know that is the only drum that will fit other than the repros. About a year ago I found some on RockAuto for like $20 each U.S. made!

Thanks for the reply. I ended up going over to one of my favorite junkyards who has many 49-50 F1s. The first F1 I went over to had a front drum laying on the fender. I turned it over and swear it has never been turned. The other one was still on the truck so I took it off and it looked brand new also. When I showed them to the owner of the yard he said look these have never been turned. Was super Happy to pay him $40.00 on was on my way. Really Made my day. Both Ford script and he threw in the hubs.

Sounds like a deal! should be good for a least a couple of turns, may last for many, many years!
