Default Quick Help Needed On Brakes

Which way does the adjusting shaft face, longer, pointed end toward the outside or inside of car? Can't find a definitive picture anywhere. Thanks.

Confused in N.Y.

Think about it, it must match up to the slant of the adjuster. BTW, have you mic-ed each of the shafts to verify they are all the same exact length.

Thanks Brent. I figured that out about the time you posted your message and was just about to tell everyone to ignore my ignorant plea. I thank you again for the quick reply.

Enlightened in N.Y.

I'd recommend a good repair manual, like Les Andrews, as there is quite a bit to good working mechanical brakes. They are fussy critters, everything needs to be right.

Your seeing the result of the after effects. The best thing to do is just report it without replying on the thread but that will never happen, most just don't get it.
Runnerbun had to announce over 15 times that he reported something

Now we'll see others replying to old threads as they have no idea what happened...

Hopefully he will take care of the rest but its a lot of extra work.

The only thing 'quick' about model A brakes is they aren't.
