Default '32 door lock mystery

I have one for the ‘32 experts. Has anyone ever seen a door lock assembly with a long shaft? Except for the shaft and a few other minor differences in the housing, it looks very much like a standard ‘32. Is it for something obscure like a ‘32 sedan delivery rear door? Is it even for a Ford?
Sorry for the poor quality pictures, but here it is alongside a standard ‘32 lock.

Its for 32 ,3W and 33 closed cars. They use the longer shaft because of where the latch is.

Depending on the length it could be for a '32 panel delivery rear door (not sedan delivery). The '32 cabriolet lock cylinder also has a longer shank than the '32 sedan/standard coupe/convertible sedan/ Victoria lock shank, but not as long as that in your photo. There is also the '33 lock cylinders whose sank length is 1 3/4", as deuce lover indicates.

The shank is 2". Does that point towards 3W?

The longer shaft versions I have seen have a square shaft.
I've never seen a round one as shown.
Possibly modified to achieve the longer length.??
Perhaps DavidG or Deucelover can elaborate.

Yes Phil I thought it was strange and it could very well have been modified. Here is a blow up of his pics and of one I had a few yrs ago that was altered to work with a 3w application.

Hi Phil,

Over the years I have seen some with round shafts morphing into a square in two different ways, namely an abrupt transition such as with the subject cylinder in the original post (#!) and the other in tapered transitions from round to square. The latter tends to make one think "home made", but with all four transitions exactly equal in length and width, perhaps not.

I have personally seen the locks that Corn Fed has, and they are not modified. They look truly factory produced.

The short one is a zinc body with the stainless skin, and the long one has a chrome face. But they both have the exact “32ness” to the key area.

I believe some European versions had the lock on doors opposite of us versions of which some were also suicide doors, locking hub caps etc. as well shared similar cylinders with varied reach.
