Coils an condensers and other components of teh distributor should not know the difference between number 2 and number 134. Have you checked for something like a foouled out number two spark plug.

I have not seen it mentioned but have you checked for "Carbon Tracking" on the coil and the distributor body and rotor.

In a darken garage, start the engine and check for "leaks" on the coil and distributor. With a clear cap you can check inside the distributor body.

This is mentioned in the Service Bulletins, page 368, "Most Coil Troubles Due to Neglect".

Is there no spark at #2? or is it not firing? Have you done a compression test on #2?

The distributor housing sometimes has internal shorts or open circuits. I know you tried a different housing. But just to make sure, measure the resistance between the #2 point inside the distributor housing and the connection on the outside for the strap for #2 plug. It should measure close to zero ohms, less than one ohm. You may need to file or scratch the point inside the housing to get a good contact.
