Re: Easy Oil Pan Baffel Removel
Kgbnut, post 20, this idea works so easily with a 2x4 and 9” c clamp. A couple turns and the dipper pan just popped loose with no drama.

As stated, sludge and crap will find its way to the bottom. Also, dig through the sludge and look for excessive metal and/or debris. it will give you an indication of the condition of your motor.

Re: Easy Oil Pan Baffel Removel
PalAl,
I like your pictures. That is exactly what I do. I really have no complaints with the other methods, but this just gives me a lot of control and less mess. Ken

Re: Easy Oil Pan Baffel Removel
See KGBnut's post # 20. I don't like dropping, using a crow bar, or banging to remove the baffle plate. A few years ago someone on one of the forums illustrated the use of a 2x4 and large C-clamp to remove the plate. I've done this twice. The C-clamp spans the width of the pan, one end on the 2x4 and the other end thru the plate hole. By slowly adding pressure on the clamp the plate comes out. No curse words, no mess, no dents, no dead grass...easy...the plate comes out like a dream! One suggestion: if the plate edges look battered, rusted on, or appear to be difficult to remove a spray of WD-40 or PB Blaster along the plate edge will ease the removal. Try it, you will like it !!! Gary
