Default Differential video

Should have checked this out closer when I bought it. I didn't give a lot so I'm not out a lot, just disappointed. Looks like I'm gonna need to break it down and assess the situation...

The axle will move around like that without the hub and bearing on.

The up-down movement is normal, the wheel hub bearing keeps it centered, probably the seals are worn though.

Turning the driveshaft with 2 fingers that easy could mean the adustment has moved, or the bearing could be worn some, the preload is gone.

How important is the preload? Is what you are seeing important enough you would break down the rear end and inspect it further?

An unknown rear is a gamble, so now is the time to inspect the inside. Remove just the left axle tube and you can remove both axles and differential to see how they look.
