Folks,
Yea I have strayed from the 32. Been working on finding little things on the 65. But as I spent some time in the shop I noticed the rear tires on the 32 were a little more buldged out. Checking pressures I found the inside dual at about 5 psi. Pumped them up and will keep an eye on that tire. Could have picked up a road hazard?
Hope things are good in Ford land. We are in winter mode with about a foot of fresh snow and temps around 20F. A good time to spend time in the warm shop just putzing around.
I need to think about getting our room for the June Early V8 show.

Do you know if there is supposed to be any kind of seal for the front wheel bearing grease? I didn't see anything on mine or in your pictures either.

Hummm? I have slept since then, and dont remember any seal in the front wheels. I will try to look at some pictures. Some one will be along to help that knows more than I.

I have a couple pictures around June 14 2021. (Post #105) Not seeing a seal??

John Kelley and I are looking for more information on these front commercial axle seal or no seal??

Maybe Dave Gunnison has information. Or David G?

Only the rear hubs had grease seals on 1932-34 passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and big trucks.

Same for the '35-'36 Trucks. There's a grease seal in the rear brake drum only. The front spindles have and integral formed shape which serves to keep most of the wheel bearing grease in the front drum.

Folks,
I did fire up the 32 to move it out of the shop for a party last week. It had not been started for a while and resisted a little. I let it warm up in the drive and it was happy to get out.
It does have to share the shop with the new 'lil red' Comet.

My Uncle used to have a sugar house in Vermont, every year he gave my father a gallon of dark syrup, it didn’t take long for us four kids to consume that gallon.

Chris, love the pictures of your maple syrup operation!!! (along with the pictures of your truck and new "lil red"!!) So, guessing this year's season runs from around 15 February to St. Patrick's Day? Think I remember you saying it all depends on day and night time temperature??

Yes we may be done with syrup in approximately 6 weeks from when we tap. Just trying to slip in some fun times at this point in our lives. Some days are better than others.
Yes our season is 6-8 weeks. We have made 88 gal of syrup. Weather is warming. Not good for syrup production.

Ford folks,
Our Maple season production is done! The earliest I have ever seen in my life. We were done March 3rd. Heard the peepers several times and did not get a run after the freeze two nights ago. We will begin clean up in the next few days. Our big maple open house event is this weekend so we have been busy making maple related products for our customers to take home. We will be boiling water in the sugar house for show and tell.
Moved some of the toys around today with John's help.




John feels I have room for several more cars now! I don't think so! Weather was good.
Cheryl and I did go for a nice ride in the Comet. And the 32 started right up and ran fine as I moved it around in the shop. Life is pretty good!

Ford Barn Folks,
Took the 32 dump truck out for a couple mile jaunt today. The weather was cool, roads are dry. It was good to get this 92 year old truck out in the spring air!

Ford Folks,
The 32 waits like us for good weather again. I would like to show the truck with the bed safely in the up position. I have only had the bed raised 3 times since we brought it home and got the PTO hooked back up. I have not restored any of the hydraulics for lifting the bed, so this may or may not work?

Cheryl just got home from the hospital. We dodged a bullet for sure. She had a very minor type of stroke. She recovered in a matter of minutes. She spent two days in ICU but was in really good shape for all the testing she went through. They found the possible cause and for now we just need to monitor blood pressure, and a new med or two.

Hi, Chris. Wow, that was a very scary two days for Cheryl... and for you!!! Glad they found the cause...TIA?? Blood thinners?? Keep us posted on how she is doing!!

On the DDD, sounds like maybe your next project might be rebuilding the Hydraulics??? Parts available??? If so, would be very rewarding!!!

Hey Chris,

Glad to hear Cheryl is doing well after the stroke scare. Went to the funeral home for a friend and neighbor last night who died from strokes/heart issues, so it is indeed scary.
I'm sure you have a local hydraulic shop that services loaders and dozers. Check them out. You may have to remove the cylinder(s) and take them to the shop, like I recently did with my Ford (Bush Hog brand) loader.
