Thanks for the info, I am looking for the number for the nonwide band years prior to 1926. I'm not sure when they came out with the removable ears. I think about 1919?

Frank,

The removeable ear type came out for the "improved Model T" '26-'27 cars. The earlier cars could be switched over but the low pedal shaft has to be changed (or cut off) to work. they would have used 3 of the narrow bands instead of the 2 narrow and 1 wide of the latter cars. This is Ford production. There were several aftermarket makers of "quick change" bands years earlier from the late teens on.

Hope this helps.

Larry,
Thanks for clearing that up for me. Years ago I had a 1914 that had new style removable bands in it . I have been thinking of changing to kevlar bands . If I do, I can use the old style bands because that most likely would be a one time band change and I would not have to worrie about changing them again. My mind goes in circles on stuff , I should have thought of that before.
Have a good day

Frank, the narrow bands are available at most swap meets in both styles, removable or fixed ears. The choice should be yours.
