Default self adjusting rod nuts

No need to worry about shims, worn crank, bad fit, with these miracle rod nuts they will adjust your clearance automatically.

I remember reading in an ad many years ago, I just found these in one of my junk boxes, how long do you think they would work?

I had a '24 that had these and they worked just fine. I pulled a cap off one day and the journal and the babbit was just perfect with no scoring at all. I would use them again if I could find a new set.

Are these just a set of spring tensioners that snugged down on the rod caps?

these took up wear as the engine was used and stopped knocks by not holding the caps circumference rigid. Most of the reciprocating force on the bearing is from the top.

Once upon a time my Dad told me that some of the ol Jimmy diesel engines with blowers that got so so many hours a low cost fix was to switch the bearings from top to bottom on the rods to gain a few more hours before a major. Monte
