Default Changing positive ground to negative 6V?

A friend has a stock '37 cabriolet that needed a fuel pump. He bought a 6 volt electric and it wouldn't work till he changed the battery ground from positive to negative. Question is will anything else be affected or need to be changed?
The coil wiring and polarizing the generator come to mind. Anything else??

I had a 6 volt negative ground fuel pump in a '46 I had. I just changed the hot wire to ground and the ground to hot, to make it positive ground (I think it was in the installation instructions). It worked well and I never had a problem with it.

just reverse the wires at the pump, no need to change the whole wiring system....IMO.....Mike

Yes, seems to me too the pump can be run isolated. If changing whole car I think only actual work would be crawling under the dash and routing the wire through inductive loop on amneter the other way. This could actually be a problem if insulation is getting old and stiff, in which case I would simply try to remember that discharge is now good...

A lot of aftermarket pumps don't ground through the body anyway, making it a simple wire swap and done. Verify an open circuit from pump housing to terminals, and you're fine.
