Ih 200 Napa condenser installation, 1935
Okay, if I want to switch to this new style condenser can the old condenser stay in place and be used to attach the #200 unit? Thanks

Not if itīs connected...
If itīs just there and one side of the old one is disconnected why not. Paralleling them will give you the wrong value of capacitance and all issues you had with the old one. |

If you have a "Hot Rod" (or any kind of modified ignition), you might want to consider one of my Big Brass "Trash can" condensers. The are built around a modern severe duty film capacitor and have "the look".

And still another way to convert. Also get a good quality resister. My repro was junk.

Another way to mount a Vertex 36 mfd condenser in its container which can be changed easily.
