...and I thought we were in Viet Nam to promote Capitalism. They are our friends in SE Asia regarding Chinese expansion. I never hesitate to purchase PRVN merchandise.
There were still rubber trees there in the 1960s. Michilen was pretty big around Bing Duong in the 1960s until NVA took it over.

Back a few years back there was a big stink over things from Asian countries that were marked made in the USA. It turns out that it meant United States of Asia. Sneaky Devils

My wifes ex husband got into a little pickle in Southeast Aisa in the late 60's.Seems the Michelin rubber plantations were still owned by French businessmen,and were supposed to be inviolate.He was a gunship pilot,and got a little frustrated chasing NVA into those rubber tree stands.Those guys got a little surprise that time,he and crew shot the place up anyway.A lot of people yelled at him,but he said they were yelling with their mouths,and patting him on the back with their hands.
