1947 Mercury 1/2 ton pickup
So this is my dad's '47 Mercury pickup, This is Canadian produced only as well as the '46's. We are going to try and finish it now that my '41 pu has moved on
The chassis powertrain was redone a few years back and we need to clean it up and redo some leaky head studs and move on to the body. We assembled a new box from NCT also. This will take us a bit of time but hope to update fairly often. |

That looks like a solid truck. It still takes lots of work to make one nice. Persevere and good luck.

Glad you're back in the game. Good luck with this project, I have never seen an Merc PU.

Good luck mate. Familiar old heads on the truck, C59A same as my car as mine. NZ assembled V8s came CKD from the Ford Commonwealth plant ex Canada so we still got the flathead in 1954 as well.

Re: 1947 Mercury 1/2 ton pickup
Nice, can we have some more pics of that opening rear window please? Also on the outside of that window, is there ment to be something covering the part of the cab edge to window join, the part that's covered normally by the rear window gasket? I ask as the reproduction opening rear window kit doesn't come with anything to cover that bit.
Thanks, Martin. |

The primer under the floor is remarkable! Nice work on the fender patches and reinforcements.
