Steering wheel/ Horn question
I have a 14" custom steering wheel, 4 spoke padded chrome, from Sacramento Vintage Ford, need to use an adapter from "stock keyway" "A" mount to 3-hole mount to use.
Where can I find someone to cut and re-spline the steering rod? It's for a pickup and a tight fit for me. I want to use the stock horn rod/ light switch also. |

Re: Steering wheel/ Horn question
The HAMB might be a better place for this one to get a response

Re: Steering wheel/ Horn question
Can't you use this adapter that mounts to the Model A shaft?

Re: Steering wheel/ Horn question
I would double check that this adapter will fit the model A ford steering shaft. It says that it suits 1930 to 1948 Ford. However, I do know that the taper on the Model A differs to the later cars.

Re: Steering wheel/ Horn question
It's a 2-tooth, in a '30 pickup.

Re: Steering wheel/ Horn question
The taper is different between the Model A Ford and the later Fords. They say it fits
Model A thru 48 but it doesn't. I put a 34 ford wheel on one of my Model A's I had to remachine the taper and cut the keyway in a different spot. The Model shaft is bigger than the later taper so you have to open it up. |
