Default sealng trunk floor

A friend has '47 Coupe and the trunk floor is a little rusty in some places and porous. His coupe is a driver, not a restoration.

What would be a good way to seal it watertight ? We were considering that bed liner material or fiberglass cloth, & resin. What's your experience, and what's the best way to prep the surface ? Thank you Forrdbarners.

I've had good results using coarse sandpaper and a wire brush to remove loose rust and dirt. Then I brush on a coat of POR-15, while wet lay on a layer of fiberglass cloth, followed by another saturating coat of POR-15. The resulting patch is very durable, tough and unaffected by moisture.

POR15 will do the job. Kinda Spendy and might be "overkill".
I just did a pick-up bed with Raptor spray in liner. Very impressive stuff. The p/u bed kit is about $100 (Amazon, actually TCP Global) and comes with the spray gun and 4 liters of product w/hardener. I would think you would only need 1 liter for a trunk. You can purchase it directly from TCP Global and just get one bottle, hardener and spray gun. Look for their cheap gun not the $80 one. Or if your in Arizona you can borrow mine.
The secret is in the prep. Sanding and a good wipe down with prep solvent a must. Possibly even a primer coat.
TCP Global, Harbor Freight and even Wal Mart and Auto Zone have a rattle can spray that seems to cover well. I don't believe it is as durable as the Raptor liner, but would seal OK?

Use POR-15 and the POR-15 cloth. Have used it before and it works good. Brush it on, no need to spray it and have plenty of good ventilation (preferably use it outside.)

Thank you all for your ideas & sharing your experience. I have used both POR 15, and SEM Rust shield, with which you can use their hardener that speeds up the cure, toughens the paint & bumps up the gloss. I might try the fiberglass cloth w/the SEM.

On my avatar driver quality car, the spare tire well had several small pinholes in the bottom. I cleaned up the rust as mentioned above and then just used fiberglass and gel and then painted it. I didn't go to the fuss of cutting it out and welding a replacement well. Worked good and no leaks anymore.
