Default Hot water heater pre-war cars

We're hot water heaters an aftermarket item in pre-war cars, was any type of heater standard or were they all optional.

Ford did not offer a hot water heater until the 1939 model year. The manifold hot air heater was still available till post war. Heaters were a Dealer installed option.
