Default the 32 v8 spoon throttle

I am rebuilding a spoon throttle for a 32 v8 and want to install spoon on shaft at correct angle. Need to know the angle of spoon to upper rod (ball end) or could use a side view photo showing relationship.

Assuming that your pedal and shaft are original and they are for a V-8, they only have a single pair of holes each and therefore can only be put together in two positions. With the ball end up in a vertical position, the pedal should angle downward at about 45 degrees. If the pedal were rotated 180 degrees, it would end up outside the firewall, which, of course, would be absurd.

Thanks, Dave. I have replaced the shaft with new 5/15 CR so will be drilling a new hole.

Here are some shots of my old throttle that I replaced with a stainless one I fabbed up.

The angle of the spoon to the shaft is about 22 or 23 degrees:

The angle of the hole in the shaft is about 55 degrees.

My web site has an article on the stainless replacement.

Thanks so much. Photos are exactly what I needed. I lathed a new shaft with taper/ball using 5/16" cold rolled and forged a spoon out of a pitch fork tine (good carbon steel). Your web pages are outstanding!
