Default KR Wilson wrench? High Priced

Is this a wrench for working on shocks?

Just wondering for sure what it is used for and wondering why it brought so much money. Thanks

I have a reprint of the KRW Service Station Equipment for Ford Dealers catalog from 1931-1932 which is sold by many of the repro parts dealers. On page 80 it shows this wrench as part of a Houdaille Shock Absorber Repair and Testing Kit A386. Fifteen different tools were included in the kit that sold for $24.50.

If you don't know what you're doing it is real easy to get into a bidding
frenzy. I've done it on a few items and afterwards I've said to myself:
"What and why in the world did I do that?!?!" Hopefully I've learned better, but all it takes is that special goody that you just got'a have.

Some time back, there came up an item that I had been looking for for several years. So here comes this perfect example of what I wanted. So I bid for it. I waited till just before it closed, and the bidding started. I finally wound up with it, but paid about 5 times what it was really worth.

That being said, and now 6 months later, I've seen 5 or 6 of them for a "Buy-it-now" price, about 1/5th of what I paid when bidding in a frenzy. Should have headed my own advice!

The wrench that you are inquiring about is a K.R. Wilson shock wrench.

You should use a sniping tool. Most successful bidders do. I use the free one gixen.com

You can still use to much money even with a "sniping" tool. Guess how I know.......
