Parked in the garage
Had the car sitting in the garage for 2 months due to the weather. I took the car out yesterday for a good run, it started right up, no issues. What is the longest you can let the A sit, since it has that 10% ethanol mix in the gas ?

Re: Parked in the garage
Put additive in the gas it can sit for quite awhile
I always leave tank at around 1/4 tank so when i get it out i can put fresh gas in at that time But i keep mine in heated garage And always working on it every winter So if it's been sitting for a couple months just add fresh fas to it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Parked in the garage
I store my cars from November to next mid April. I fill the tank to the top and put one can of SeaFoam in each tank. I then run car for a few minutes to move the treated gasoline through the system. I’ve never had a problem starting the cars in the spring. Wayne

Re: Parked in the garage
A friend of mine told me he always uses SeaFoam in his regular cars, one has over 200,000 miles, when they did some work to his car, they said the engine was very clean.

Re: Parked in the garage
I just drive them in an forget about them too.If I know it isn't going out again until spring I will put some stabil in them.I started working on equipment when I got out of high school in 1974,and have been working on gummed up fuel systems ever since. In October I started a Wheelhorse tractor that had not been used in 3 summers. It had a full tank,so I used it up before I added any.Pretty much business as usual for me.

Re: Parked in the garage
If I am not going to run my car for more than a week I will run the carburetor out of gasoline. I don't use any stabilizer but don't let the car sit for more than a couple of months. If I am going to be away I will disconnect the battery, put the car on jack stands, and hook up a battery maintainer. I burn the normal fuel with 10% ethanol.
Right now I am waiting for some significant rain to wash the salt away that was put on the roads for the ice and snow.

Re: Parked in the garage
After 40 years playing with Fordv8s, i have become an "A" fan. The reason why, I love the way, no matter how long it sits, as long as the battery is charged, it starts right up. With a battery tender, it always fires right up first try. I love it.

Re: Parked in the garage
Don’t need no stinking additive. Never had a problem.

Re: Parked in the garage
I have never put a drop of additive in any motor. I keep my cars forever. I just retired my 06 f150 with 300,000. Expedition is pushing 200k. My 'antique' will sit for awhile, I start it at least once a month to keep the battery charged.
All of my vehicles get a service at least every 5k miles. |
