Default Where is the identification number on my 29 Town Sedan?

All....I noticed a thread on body numbers and so now I am curious as to where my numbers that identify my car would be. I found a number on the engine block. It was a star followed by A1857035 and then another star. Is there more numbers somewhere else? Ralph

When the engine was put in the frame at the factory the engines number was stamped into the frame ----but most likely the body has to be removed to see it, usually between the firewall and door post area on the frame

If Ford built the body assembly there was no body number plate, but if Briggs, or Murrey built it there would be a body number plate on the firewall near the patent plate---near where the gas line comes through the firewall

I've also seen a body number plate nailed to the wood floor on the right side.
I don't recall the body style or if it was a Briggs or Murray.

I have not tagged the car yet because I am still trying to get the engine unstuck. When I go to get it tagged what number do I give the tag office? I do have a body number tag on the passenger side. Ralph

Ideally you would want to use the number on the frame but since you can't see it I would use the engine number. Your engine number is from July 1929 so it may match the frame number.

1929 Briggs bodies have the tag on the heal board passenger side (well at least the town sedans do)
To add to that; The Briggs used their own number that does not match the Ford number for same body.
