Default 1930-31 Roadster Windshield glass dimensions or pattern?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have the dimensions or maybe a pattern for a 1930-31 deluxe windshield?

I got a large enough piece of new safety glass and would like to try to cutting my own windshield.

If I use my frame to make a template, how much wiggle room do I want to leave. I will be using glass setting tape. Any recommendations for setting tape?

Many thanks.

Here's what I did on mine. laid the frame on a piece of cardboard, traced the inside of the frame onto the cardboard, added about a quarter of an inch all around, cut the cardboard out to size and installed it in the frame to see if it fit. After a little adjustment here and there, took the cardboard to the glass shop as my pattern.

Thank you. I will see if I can find a copy of it.

That's a good idea. I got the frame so I will try it this weekend. Thx,

Planojc has the practical answer. I would use poster board, or even Masonite after initial mounting the frame to verify test fit on the car. Use a clean, flat surface as your work area.
The diagrams would be used to verify the template you make. There is a reference to the treatment of the edges. They maybe slightly rounded. I did a long series of youtubes on installing windshield glass in the closed bodies frames that may help with general knowledge.

The glass holders I made up really help.

I had a local shop cut, then recut glass for the frame used in the youtubes. A better source for correctly cut glass I used is Bob's Glass in Corvallis, Oregon. He has the patterns, the experience, and stands by his work. Shipped right to your front door.
Do not run your finger along the ground edge of the glass.

I don't think the bulletins will help as the information on the
glass is from May 1928 and will not show the Deluxe Roadster.

There was a previous thread that mention Bob’s Glass. I ordered the glass for my ‘30 Deluxe Roadster Frame and for the Rear Frame. The turnaround was very quick.

Any contact info for Bob's Glass?
I always like a good challenge and still want to cut my own glass but not opposed to buying it I can't get it right.
