Default 1954 Ford car hood

I have a friend that just purchased a 54 Ford that is missing the hood.
I told him that I think a 52 and 53 Ford hood may fit, but I am not
100% certain. If someone knows the answer to this question, please let me know, and I will pass it on to him. Thank you. Jay in Mass.

My Ford chassis and parts book shows part number: BM 16612 for the 52-54 Ford hood.

This is from the Canadian parts book, I would assume the US would be the same? I'm sure someone else can confirm.

It's too bad you aren't in TX. I have a hood that needs some love because it fell over onto the airplane ornament. Other than that it is solid.

rjlester and GLAmes
I thank both of you for such a quick answer to my 54 Ford hood question.
I am going to pass that information on to my buddy. He will be very happy to hear that. It's too bad that we are not closer to Texas. Jay

Jeff
Last night Ray took the 57 to the Friday night cruise . One of my friends parked his 427 powerd 1963 Ford next to the 57 Ford. During the conversation, the 54 hood subject came up. The person with the HI PO 63 Ford stated that he has a spare 54 hood and Jay can have it for free.
So the other friend with the 54 is getting a free hood.
This is a good case of what goes around, comes around.

Does anyone know if the hood hinges from a 54 Ford will fit on a 54 Lincoln Capri?

I don't know much about the 54 Lincoln, but I do know that the 54 hood hinges are connected to what I would call air duct boxes that have to be taken off as a complete unit. I have my doubts about those boxes fitting the Lincoln. Someone with more knowledge will have the answer.
