I saw a pair on E-Bay yesterday. I saw an earlier post and a senior member indicated that when they fail, it is in the closed position. I do not know if this is true.

A bellow made out of a meterial that go bad from stressing....then using alcohol as the active ingredients.
Even a bad weld and they leak and go bad with time.
Just a less bright design compared to wax in my opinion.

The bellows are made brass and constantly flex on the ends of the
bellows as they flex. The brass work hardens from the constant
bending and cracks. G.M.

An alcohol , bellows type does usually fail in the closed position, and can cook your motor. A wax type usually fails in the open position, which leaves the engine running cooler than it should.
