1946 Lincoln Turn Signal Switch Wiring
I am trying to use a 1946 Lincoln Steering column in my Model A RPU build. I really want to use the factory turn signal switch built into the column. I would love if someone had a wiring diagram or could tell me how their car is wired. It appears to have three wires in the column. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Re: 1946 Lincoln Turn Signal Switch Wiring
Dustin, I'm using a 48 lincoln column in my 40 coupe project and the switch is the same from 41 to 48. The center terminal on the switch goes to the load side of the flasher and the two end terminals go to the left and right side lights, but you have to use 4 individual lamps for turn signals. The way I did the turn signal switch was using four 6 volt relays, brake light switch, flasher, and the headlight switch from the 48 lincoln, in fact I used the whole dash, the v12 and the overdrive transmission in this build. But back to the switch, what are you using for parking and brake lights, and will they be used for the turn signals also? If so I have a diagram of how I set it up using the 40 tail lights and the 40 parking lights with duel filament bulb in the front. Let me know and I will copy my diagram for you. Pete

That would be great to have that Diagram. Your build sounds really cool. I am using a 50 dash in mine.
I have seal beam headlamps with separate flashers on top for the front, and 39 Chevrolet tail lamps in the rear. If you would like to email it [email protected] I really appreciate the help. |

On the other hand; since my Lincoln switch was good, I'm using relays with the Lincoln column in my '47 Ford. |
