Default Another milestone! Engine installed

Pluggin away on my project 36 pickup. Today I got the driveshaft/torque tube squared away and was able to bolt together the freshened up engine and the rebuilt transmission.

Major accomplishment was getting the assembly set in place on the frame,

I took my originals and stripped the rust off in an electrolyte bath and then took them to my favorite chrome plater, CMP (Courtesy Metal Polishing) in Villa Park, IL. For $80 he did those plus the oil dipstick and I got them back in about 2 weeks.

Waiting for my distributor to come back from Skip. Those are his waterpumps on there and Bill Wzorek's rebuilt shocks. Everything else I've done myself.

Man that's lookin' good! You're gonna love the ride with Bill Wzorek's shocks, they made a world of difference (major improvement) in the ride and handling of our '39 Zephyr.

If those boots could talk...vintage 1970's when Dad had them in Korea. I can't fit in 'em so I used them on a mannequin I've got sitting in the front seat

Looking good. I do hope you install the bumper arms correctly when you get it a little further along. LOL

Red's Headers, just got them last week. Fast turnaround. When I called they were out of stock, but they had them within two weeks and I got them 4 days later.

I got tired of cracking my knees on the bumper arms when they were pointed out in the right direction. I'm limited on shop space so I'm trying to store as many parts ON the vehicle as possible, plus that way I don't lose or misplace them.
