Default Roadster Pickup rear spring suggestions

I've got a 1928 Roadster pickup that is a survivor. It runs & drives great but the thing rides like a truck (duh). I'd like to hear some ideas to get the rear suspension a bit softer. The goal is to have a daily driver that is not going to be hauling heavy loads. Has anyone tried and eight or seven leaf spring in the rear? What were your results?

I have a 7 leaf roadster spring in my '31 RDPU. I agree with the suggestion about the Posies spring.

The price of that rear spring is $390.95 plus shipping, why not remove a couple of leaves from a stock spring and put teflon inserts in the leaves, might work out just as good.

My 29 ccpu had a 13 leaf rear spring...see picture...

I reduced it to an 8 leaf and the ride is much improved.

If I knew then what I know now I probably would have made it a 9 leaf to allow for the age of the spring, the pickup sits about level now fore-and-aft....I would rather the back was up just a little.....

Read all you can about that rear spring and be very careful, treat it like something that can hurt you....

I also used graphite lube from John Deere between the leaves..last picture...

I would do as 1955cj5 did. Keep the very top leaf in place as it is contoured to fit in the cross-member. Carefully take it apart to clean and lube it. You may need spacers on the U-bolts that secure the spring to the cross-member so it bolts up tightly???
