sediment bowl filter issue
Hi All,
I just tried to install a NAPA 3039 filter in the sediment bowl. Well the center hole would not fit around the fuel inlet so I had to widen it. When I finally got everything seated it leaked like a sieve. When I pulled it apart again the cork seemed good but the filter paper was crunched by the center fuel inlet and then it proceeded to come apart on me. And I did pull the mesh screen out. It is possible that the cork I used was for something else but just happened to fit. Either way I ordered some more just in case. What did I do wrong? Mike

Re: sediment bowl filter issue
There isn't much that you can do wrong.
I have the same filter and it leaked like crazy because I had the gasket and metal screen in the wrong locations. I have never seen or know how the filter paper could possibly get scrunched. |

Re: sediment bowl filter issue
I have no issues with using this one, the price is for an order of 2, a little more expensive, but is specifically for use on a Glass sediment bowl.

Re: sediment bowl filter issue
I like the ones Snyders sells better than the Bratton ones with a coil spring that has to be centered.Snyders installs easier and more reassuring.

Re: sediment bowl filter issue
I use the WIX. Pops in no springs and no issues.
